Matco & Belgian company Debomat sign joint venture The joint venture signed between Matco and Belgian company Debomat has opened doors for product development as well as the opportunity to introduce South African products into Europe. It puts Matco closer to European standards and trends and provides the opportunity to acquire core competence from Debomat. At a prestigous function held on the evening of Monday, 22 August 2011, Flemish Minister President Peeters bore witness to the signing of a joint venture between Belgian operated business Debomat and a South African based company, Matco. The joint venture agreement was signed by the managing directors of the respective businesses, Tom de Bondt and Nicole Herron and signifies the strengthening of both businesses. During the evening, Flemish Minister President Peeters also tried his hand at Curling on carpet.

Curling is a social sport which is equally enjoyed by young and old. It is an easy-going game which stimulates social contact, requires a certain amount of physical exercise and promotes an active mind. It is ideally suitable as a promotional tool, or for enjoyment in retirement villages, recreation clubs, youth groups or in the hotel and leisure industry. Fun was had by all on Monday evening, including Nonceda Mashalaba, Chief Director of Product Development - Department of Trade and Industry of South Africa, who demonstrated the game with ease and elegance.


Matco donates mats to the Johannesburg Zoo Matco recently donated mats for use in the Wattled Crane Nursery. The Wattled Crane is critically endangered, only approximately 230 left in the wild.
